Brookings, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field team concluded the SDSU Indoor Classic on Saturday evening, adding 12 personal bests, four season bests, and ten top-20 finishes. The full recap from the first day of competition can be found
HERE. In total the Wolves tallied 23 personal bests, six season bests, and 25 top-20 finishes between the two days of competition.
Northern opened their day on the track with two personal bests and one season best in the women's 5000m by
Livia Wallace (19:12.67),
Jordyn Sterud (19:26.18), and
Madison Leapaldt (19:38.35). Three Wolves also recorded personal bests in the 400m dash led by
Emma Rezac in 11
th with a time of 58.10. She was followed by
Madison Barnes in 14
th, finishing in 58.49 and
Isabel Kinzer in the top-30 with a time of 1:00.12.
Abberly Smith and
Kylie Werner notched season bests in the 800m run with times of 2:27.05 and 2:31.82, while
Jennifer Clark tallied a personal best in the race finishing in 2:27.10.
Paige Larson notched a season best
Megan Mooberry recorded a personal best in the mile run as well, crossing the line at 5:26.66 and 5:30.10 respectively.
Kealy Hill grabbed a top-15 finish in the pole vault, clearing 3.23m, as the third NSIC finisher in the event.
Itoitz Rodriguez tallied a 13
th place finish in the 400m, crossing the line at 49.37. He went on to take tenth in the 600m run with a time of 1:22.10.
Kelson Brewer also ran his way into the top-20, finishing in 1:24.89, while
Devin Sheridan tallied a personal best of 51.01 in the race.
Donovan Miller tallied a person best in the 800m run with a time of 1:58.88. Northern added two personal bests in the 5000m from
Jackson Harrison in 17
th overall with a time of 15:33.46 and
Jorge Garcia (15:54.91).
After qualifying for the semifinal round of the 60m hurdles,
Bryce Malsam notched a personal best time of 8.42 in the race. He did not advance to finals, bit landed in the top-11 of the semifinal round.
Northern returns to action February 22 and 23 from the NSIC Indoor Championships in Mankato.
