Wolves Swimming Set For Final Dual At Home Tomorrow Evening

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State swim team returns home for their last swim dual of the 2019-20 season as they take on the Dragons of MSU Moorhead at 5:30 p.m. on Friday from the Aberdeen YMCA pool. 


ABOUT NORTHERN
  • NSU enters the dual 1-11 overall
  • The Wolves recorded 25 top-3 finishes last weekend against Southwest Minnesota State
  • Northern State swept the top-5 spots in the 50-yard free, Josie Gillund finished first with a time of 25.62, Cassie Williams placed second with a time of 26.07, Connor Doran in third with a time of 26.51, Melani Mercer clinched a fourth place finish (27.10), and Emma Murdock finished fifth (27.92)
  • Gillund was the top swimmer for the Wolves just a weekend ago as she recorded three individual top-3 finishes and a relay win
  • Forsyth is coming off wins in her 100 and 200 fly for NSU
 
ABOUT MSU MOORHEAD
  • The Dragons enter the Friday dual 2-7 overall
  • MSUM tallied four runner-up finishes just a weekend ago at the JoAnn Andregg invite hosted by the University of St. Thomas
  • MSU Moorhead swimmer Grace Moffat recorded a season best in the 200 fly with a time of 2:16.07 placing third in the event
  • The Dragons are led by head coach Charles King in his season year

LAST MEETING
  • Northern State dropped both meetings earlier this season in West Fargo, N.D. falling 131.5-79.5 on day one and 144-85 on day two
  • NSU had seven swimmers land in the top-15 of their events last meeting with Delaney Ryken (200 free), Gillund (50 free and 100 free), Forsyth (200 IM), Marialuisa Avila (200 fly), Doran (100 free), Hannah Kiernan (200 back), and Delanee Grier (200 back)
  • The Wolves and Dragons will meet in the pool for the 15th time in program history
  • Northern State is 0-14 all-time against MSU Moorhead with the first meeting between these two squads dates back to October of 2007 where your Wolves fell 166-52
