West Fargo, N.D. – Northern State swimming concluded their 2-day quad meet versus MSU Moorhead, Northern Michigan, and St. Cloud State recording 10 top-10 finishes, falling in all three duals to their opponents.

HIGHLIGHTS

·         Northern State started day two with a 9th place finish at 4:08.98 in the 400 medley relay, with the team composed of Hannah Kiernan, Annalise Bishop, Lauren Forsyth, and Connor Doran

·         Delaney Ryken swam her way into seventh place in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 18:49.45

·         Doran moved on to individual events, where she swam a 25.46 in the 50 freestyle for tenth place

·         Placing seventh in the 400 IM for the Wolves was Kiernan with a time of 4:49.83, edging out a USD swimmer by .14 seconds

·         NSU notched two top-10 finished in the 100 butterfly with Marialuisa Avila securing fifth in 58.99, and Forsyth in seventh hitting the wall at 59.26

·         Josie Gillund claimed tenth for Northern State in the 100 freestyle with a time of 56-flat

·         Shayna Asuncion recorded her first top-10 finish of the weekend in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:10.85

·         The 400 freestyle relay time of Ryken, Cassie Williams, Avila, and Gillund capped off the day for the Wolves taking fifth with a team time of 3:42.40

 

BEYOND THE RESULTS

·         Forsyth currently ranks fifth in the NSIC and 33rd nationally in the 100 fly

·         Avila currently sits third in the conference and 24th in NCAA D2 in the 100 fly

·         Kiernan is sitting 31st in the nation and fourth in the league in the 400 IM

·         Landing individually in the top-15 of their events were Jordan Metz (1650 free), Gillund (200 free), Williams (50 free), Lexie Malimanek (400 IM), Doran (100 fly), Avila (100 free), Emma Murdock (100 backstroke), Georgy Turner (100 backstroke), Ryken (500 free),
