Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University baseball team is set for their weekend home series Saturday and Sunday from Fossum Field. The Wolves will face off against University of Mary beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday in an NSIC doubleheader and 12 p.m. Sunday for a doubleheader against the Marauders.

The Wolves enter the weekend series with a 10-14 overall and a 3-9 NSIC record (11^th). NSU as a team, is hitting .265 with 15 home runs, six triples, and 45 doubles on 189 hits. Jack Schmidt leads the team with .407 batting average, second on the team is Dakota Stilson with a .338, and Justin Barreneche has a .317 average on the season. Schmidt also leads the Wolves with 35 hits, second is Stilson with 26, and Barreneche and Carolin are tied with 19 hits on the season. Schmidt notched a team high five home runs on the season and Lucas Lorenz is second with four. Schmidt leads the team with 10 doubles, while Stilson is second with nine.

NSU as a pitching staff has a 6.12 earned run average, giving up 214 hits, 120 earned runs, striking out 143 hitters, while walking 87, and giving up a .297 batting average. Luke Chevalier leads the pitching staff with three wins on the season with 39.1 innings and 32 strikeouts, Thomas Sertcis is second on the team with 24.0 innings pitched and 25 strikeouts. Colton Landreth is third on the team with 17 strikeouts in 15.2 innings. Holt Hunziker has gave up a run in 16.2 innings in relief while striking out 17. Fielding percentage for the Wolves is at .960 with 30 errors as a team in 741 chances.
Wolves are coached by Dean Berry in his eighth year as head coach posting a 144-175 record.
