MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Northern State University Wolves pushed the host Dragons of Minnesota State University Moorhead to the brink, but the Dragons prevailed to pull out a 3-0 sweep on Tuesday in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference volleyball action. MSUM needed extra points in two of the three sets, but claimed the 25-28, 27-25, 29-27 victory.
The Wolves are now 8-10 overall and 3-7 in NSIC play, having dropped five of their last six matches. MSUM improved to 15-8 on the season and an even 5-5 in conference action.
NSU got 14 kills apiece from junior

Amber Bloom, who recorded that career-best mark in her first career start. Despite those efforts, the Wolves were held to a .129 team attack percentage.
The Dragons, meanwhile, recorded just a .217 attack percentage despite a trio of players in double figures in kills, but benefited from 23 NSU hitting errors and five serve reception errors.
After claiming a relatively easy victory in the first set, the Dragons were forced to contend with a Wolves squad that wouldn't give up in sets two and three. NSU rallied from a 7-4 deficit early to force nine ties through the late going of set two
The Wolves also rallied late in set three, staving off a pair of match points on kills from Ysteboe and junior left-hander
Jordan Schaffer. NSU also squandered a pair of set points of their own that would have forced the match into a fourth set.
The Wolves remain on the road to take on Bemidji State and Minnesota Duluth on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Friday's match is set for a 7 p.m. start while Saturday's contest against the 11th ranked Bulldogs is set for 4 p.m.
