ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Northern State volleyball team dropped a heart-breaker to St. Cloud State by a score of 3-2 Saturday in front of 318 people at Hallenback Hall in St. Cloud, Minnesota on the campus of St. Cloud State University. Set scores for the match were 27-25, 24-26, 23-25, 25-19, and 12-15.
With the loss, the Wolves fall to 13-11 overall and 4-10 in the NSIC. The Huskies improve to 6-16 overall and 4-10 in the NSIC.
The Wolves' offense was led by freshman
Claire Kopfmann who recorded a career-high 15 kills on a .268 hitting percentage to lead the Northern front-line. Kopfmann's previous career-high was six kills, set against the University of Hawaii-Hilo in the Montana State-Billings Tournament earlier this season.
Becka Meiser had 13 kills and recorded 15 digs, the latter a new career-high for her.
Kayla Ysteboe continued her scoring prowess of late, clobbering 14 kills, second-most on the team.
Megan Gilbraith once again paced the offense with 48 assists, and also added three kills, 13 digs, and 2 block-assists during the match.
Stephanie Nygaard led the defense with 30 digs, and
Melanie Perez tied Meiser for second on the team with 15 digs. Freshman
Katie Stoley set a career-high with 10 digs during the match.

The Wolves are next in action on Halloween night, October 31st, when they take on the Dragons of MSU-Moorhead in Moorhead, Minnesota.
