Vermillion, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field team took part in the USD Snooze Button Classic Wednesday. The Wolves show out with 43 top-7 finishers, 14 personal records, and several provisional marks.
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE MEN
- Standing atop the long jump standings was Jayden Munroe with a leap of 7.59m, securing a provisional mark and the No. 2 rank in Division II
- Levi Reis took first in the men's javelin throw with his 64.67m distance; he earned a provisional and personal best with this mark
- Second in the triple jump went to Munroe and his 13.31m jump
- The team of Julian Scott, Chris Weber, Noah Bayer, and Ty Kadlec claimed silver in the 4x100m with a time of 41.39
- Two Wolves secured top-3 finishes in the high jump; Dylan Hoot in second with a 1.96m mark on his first attempt, and Martins Ogedenbe-Dobies in third with a 1.96m mark on his second attempt
- Weber and Kadlec ran in the men's 100m; Weber placed second with his 10.75 time while Kadlec came in fourth at 10.85
- The 400m saw Drew Salfrank finish in fourth as he crossed the line at 48.39
- Fourth in the men's 3000m steeple went to Blake Stoks and his 10:42.81 time
- Marks of 47.86m and 45.92m in the javelin throw earned Damon Roggenbuck and Marcus Garza fourth and fifth place, respectively
- With a fifth place finish and a time of 3:20.37 in the 4x400m were Salfrank, Carter Dingman, Drew Henriksen, and Geoffrey Mannino
- A personal record and provisional in the pole vault went to Rudi May's 4.86m mark; Sam Tremelling came in sixth with his 4.71m height
- In the 200m, Scott had a time of 22.28, earning him sixth
- With a time of 56.52, Henriksen notched a sixth place finish in the 400m hurdles
- Hoot took home seventh in the men's long jump with his 6.50m mark
- Also in the 4x100m relay was the team of Jesse Pietz, Dingman, Damon Roggenbuck, and Mannino; their time of 42.90 was enough to take seventh place
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- Reis set a new program record with his 64.67m javelin throw
- Other personal records on the day went to Greyson Schuetzle (110m hurdles – 15.63), Munroe (100m – 11.11), Peyton Mausbach (400m – 53.36), Garza (hammer throw – 35.70m and javelin throw – 45.92m), and Zachary Terrio (800m – 2:02.47)
HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE WOMEN
- Renea Taylor took the gold in both the 100m hurdles (14.11) and the 400m hurdles (1:00.19), claiming provisional marks in both events
- Also coming in first place was Abby Hasart in the 5000m, running an 18:36.37
- The top spot in the long jump went to Alexa Fender; her 5.64m jump was enough to earn her a provisional
- The Wolves dominated the women's pole vault, taking first, second, fourth, fifth, and seventh place; Romane Maugest (4.00m), Bekah Walz (3.85m), Liz Dunham (3.55m), Gitte Bellemans (3.40m), and Maggie Kruger (2.65m)
- Second in the javelin throw was secured by Macoya Hansen's 41.09m distance
- With a time of 11:53.13 in the women's 3000m steeple, Jolie Dugan placed third
- Tayla Dobrenski notched a top-3 spot in the high jump, clearing her first attempt at 1.57m
- The team of Kali Norton, Elisabet Osk Jonsdottir, Anna Skachenko, and Fender ran a 48.76 in the 4x100 to take fourth place
- Osk Jonsdottir and Emma Schneider jumped 10.54m and 10.45m in the triple jump; they finished fourth and fifth respectively
- Fifth in the 100m hurdles went to Julia Skari and her 14.99 time
- Taking sixth in the high jump with a 1.52m leap was Morgan Sheldon
- The 400m saw Norton take fifth as she crossed the line in 59.32; Skachenko was seventh in 59.67
- Earning seventh place and a personal best in the hammer throw was Brooke Mushatt's 46.39m throw
- Grace Kuch took seventh in the javelin throw with her 34.50m mark
- Crossing the finish line in the 4x100 relay in 52.79 was the team of Skari, Schneider, Grace Tremelling, and Emma Hunt to claim seventh place
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- Maugest earned a provisional mark and a pr with her 4.00m pole vault mark
- Personal records for the women include Tremelling (100m – 13.54), Sophia Gates (400m – 1:02.20), Chloe Peterson (hammer throw – 38.73m), and Dunham (pole vault – 3.55m)
