Jamestown, N.D. – An offensive barrage on day two in Jamestown propelled the Northern State University softball team to a weekend sweep. The Wolves scored 32 runs against Valley City and the University of Mary, notching 36 hits in 12 innings of action. NSU closes out opening weekend and the first four games of Ness-era with a 4-0 recording, including three run-rule victories, a .457 team batting average, 53 hits, 52 runs scored, 48 RBI, and a 2.23 ERA.

HOW IT HAPPENED vs. VALLEY CITY STATE
- A big third inning led to the Wolves' commanding win over the Vikings; NSU scored 13 runs on 12 hits in the inning
- NSU broke things open in the first with three runs and added three more runs in the second and one in the fourth
- Valley City tallied four runs in the second and one in the fourth, notching six total hits in the contest
- The Wolves combined for 19 hits and played perfect defense in McKenzie Wanner's second win of the season
- Aune Boben started in the circle for NSU and Wanner entered in the second, throwing 3.2 innings with five hits, one run, and two strikeouts
- In the first for the Wolves, Boben led off the game with a double to center and game around to score on a double by Emma Owens; Owens scored on a sacrifice fly to left by Wanner and Courtney Hennen scored the final run of the inning on a single to right by Madi Jones
- Valley City took the 4-3 lead in the top of the second, however Northern quickly responded with three runs in the second
- Eden Ford reached on an error and came around to score on a double to left center by Owens; Dessa Bryant reached base on a single to center and came around to score alongside Owens on a single to right by Tevan Bryant
- Northern ran away with the game in the third with runs scored by Brooke Carlson, Boben, Ford, D. Bryant, Owens, T. Bryant, Wanner, and Addy Hobza; Boben, D. Bryant, and Owens each scored a pair of runs
- Of the Wolves, 12 hits in the third, eight were extra base hits including a doubles by D. Bryant, Owens, Avarie Eagle, and Boben, triples by Hobza, D. Bryant, and Owens, and the first homerun of the 2025 season by T. Bryant
- Hobza scored the Wolves final run of the contest in the fourth on a bases loaded walk to Owens
- Five Wolves tallied multiple hits in the contest led by Owens going 4-fot-4 with a team leading six RBI and four runs scored
- Boben and D. Bryant tallied three hits and three runs scored each, combining for three RBI, while T. Bryant and Wanner grabbed two hits each and combined for three runs scored and seven RBI

HOW IT HAPPENED vs. UMARY
- Northern did not let off the gas in game two, scoring 12 runs on 17 hits, with three Wolves recording multiple hits and four notching multiple RBIs in the win
- The Wolves struck first in the top of the third with one run off the bat of Tevan Bryant; Aune Boben led off the inning with a bunt single, advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Dessa Bryant and single by Emma Owens, then crossed home plate on T. Bryant's sacrifice fly to left
- Alysa Lowe extended the lead for NSU in the fourth, leading off the inning with a triple to center; she came around to score on a single through the left side by Boben
- For the third straight inning, the Wolves put runs on the board in the fifth; Owens led off the frame with a double to left center and scored the following at-bat on a single to right by T. Bryant
- Mckenzie Wanner and Lowe continued the rally, each reaching on a single, and came around to score on a 2-out single to left by Eden Ford
- Boben stepped to the plate and connected for a single to center, scoring Brooke Carlson who tallied a 2-out walk
- Ford scored the final run of the fifth for Northern and the Marauders added one run in the bottom of the fifth on a lead-off long ball to left
- The Wolves added four runs in the seventh and held the Marauders ?? to close out the contest
- Madi Jones tallied a 2-out, pinch-hit single to right scoring Brooke Wolf and Ford who reached on a single and a walk
- Owens singled through the left side, scoring Boben who tallied her own 2-out single two at-bats prior, while Jones and Owens came around to score on a pair of bases loaded walk to Wanner and Lowe
- Abby Rux tossed her second win of 2025, giving up just one run on five hits with five strikeouts
- Owens and Boben led the offense going 4-for-5 with two runs scored and a combined three RBI, while Lowe tallied three hits and two runs scored for NSU
