Kirksville, M.O. – After battling back in the seventh inning, the Northern State baseball team fell to Truman State, 5-4 in the final inning. The Bulldogs controlled most of the game until
Brennan Phillips recorded his first homerun of the season to tie the game; but ultimately fell in the ninth inning off a sacrifice fly.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern State was the first to score with Nicholas Ochoa double to left field that scored Brent Hokeness
- After a few scoreless innings, Truman State added to the board with four runs coming in the sixth inning
- The Wolves responded back in the seventh inning with Brennan Phillips driving one over the fence for a three-run home run scoring Ochoa and Drew Benson
- In the final inning of the game, the Bulldogs stole the win with a sacrifice fly to win by one run
- NSU recorded four runs off of nine hits
- Max Otto recorded five strikeouts in 5.2 innings pitched while giving up nine hits
- In 2.1 innings pitched, Jack Miller recorded two strikeouts against seven batters faced
