Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field teams travel to Brookings this Friday and Saturday, January 26-27 to compete in the SDSU D2 Open in the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex. Competition opens on Friday at 3:15 p.m. with the multi events, followed by running events at 4 p.m.; and on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with the multi events and 12 p.m. for the full field.

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES 

• The Wolves competed at the Mike Thorson Open at NDSU last weekend 
• Both women and men placed first in in team scores and had eight event wins 
• First place finishes for the men included Sam Tremelling (pole vault), Drew Salfrank (400m), Josh Martin (1000m), and Nathan Alto (mile) 
• Women first place finishers consisted of Sierra Sweeney (triple jump), Avery Miles(1000m), Megan Pickering (3000m), and the 4x400m relay with Kyanna Collymore, Alli Jackson, Karli Klein, and Vanessa Christensen
