Four Wolves Honored on NSIC All-Conference Volleyball Teams

Burnsville, Minn. – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference released the 2023 Volleyball All-Conference teams today with three Northern State University student-athletes honored. Representing NSU is first teamer Abby Meister and second teamers Abby Brooks, Keri Walker, and Natalia Szybinska.
 
Meister leads not only the Wolves defense, but the NSIC averaging 5.78 digs per set this season. The sophomore has racked up 520 total digs and holds a 93.1 serve receive percentage. In addition, Meister has 20 aces, as well as ten assists and three kills. She recorded a career high 41 digs against Texas A&M Kingsville in September and has over 20 digs in 15 matches this season.
 
Brooks leads the team at the net on defense and in offensive efficiency. The middle is hitting .353 this season with 212 total kills. Brooks has 89.0 total blocks this season, averaging just under one per set. She adds 22 digs and three assists in 2023. The Madison native knocked down career highs in kills (18 against Augustana) and blocks (10.0 against SD Mines) this fall. In addition, she ranks sixth in the league in hitting percentage and total blocks.
 
Walker paces the Wolves offense with 951 total assists and counting, averaging 10.45 assists per set. The graduate student surpassed the 3,000 assist mark earlier this season and is nearing her third straight season with over 1,000 assists. Walker adds a team second best 255 digs and 65.0 blocks, as well as 47 kills and 43 aces. She sits top-6 in the league in total assists, assists per set, total aces, and aces per set.
 
Szybinska leads the Northern State offense with 261 total kills, averaging 3.00 kills per set this season. She is hitting .237 with 45 digs, 45.0 blocks, and six assists. Szybinska hit a career high .474 against Minnesota Crookston in September and has 15 matches with double figure kills, including a career high 25 against UMary.
