Track and Fields Tallies Over 20 Top-15 Finishes from Brookings

Brookings, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field team closed out the SDSU Indoor Classic on Saturday. The Wolves recorded 22 top-15 finishes from the second day of competition.
 
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Tanner Berg won the weight throw with a 22.38m toss, just shy of his school record mark
  • McCaden Anderson rounded out the top-10 in the weight throw, taking ninth with a 15.57m toss
  • Jackson Willis tallied a fifth place finish in the long jump with a 6.59m mark
  • Glen Quayle and Sam Tremelling took second and fourth in the pole vault, jumping 4.87m and 4.57m respectively
  • Berg added a fourth place finish in the shot put, throwing 16.29m, followed by Ethan Barnett in 15th, throwing 14.07m
  • Chase Domier notched a ninth place finish in the 400m with a time of 49.92
  • Ronald Stephenson added a 12th place finish in the 600m with a time of 1:25.42
  • The 1000m saw an eighth place finish by Jonathan Burkhalter in a time of 2:40.26
 
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
  • Kealy Hill opened her first competition of the season with a fifth place finish in the pole vault, notching a mark of 3.45m
  • Kenzee Danielson followed in sixth, jumping 3.30m
  • Tava Berg notched a 1.60m mark in the high jump, taking seventh
  • Cassidy Gough recorded a ninth place finish in the weight throw, tossing 16.12m, followed by Rachel Guthmiller in 13th with a 14.29m mark
  • Megan Mooberry continued her weekend with a 14th place finish in the mile, crossing the finish line in 5:15.99
  • Renea Taylor ran to a time of 58.47 in the 400m, taking ninth overall
  • Shanice Burrell matched her 60m hurdles mark from a weekend ago, taking sixth with a time of 8.83
  • Taylor added a top-5 finish in the 200m, taking fourth with a time of 25.23
  • Shona Juliana won the triple jump with a 11.71m on her second attempt of the day
  • Mary Franssen ran to a fifth place finish in the 1000m with a time of 3:00.80
  • The women's 4x400m relay team of Isabel Kinzer, Vanessa Klein, Shanice Burrell, and Emma Rezac took ninth with a time of 4:07.30
 
UP NEXT
Northern closes out the regular season next Saturday, February 19 at the SDSU Last Chance. The NSIC Championships are then scheduled for February 25-27 in Mankato.
