Volleyball Lands Two Sioux Falls Natives

Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State University head coach Brent Aldridge announced the addition of two student-athletes to the 2023 roster today. Eliza Bauers and Abby Meister will join the signing class of Riley Batta (Rockwell City, Iowa), Ayvrie Kaiser (Pierre, S.D.), Corbyn Menz (Delano, Minn.), Carsyn Mettler (Rapid City, S.D.), Sara Moberg (Champlin, Minn.), A'Lailah Perry (Algona, Iowa), and Morissen Samuels (Harrisburg, S.D.).
 
"We add two more very talented student-athletes that will fit into a talented recruiting class," noted Aldridge. "We are excited to add Eliza and Abby to our program, the future is bright for Wolves volleyball."

0Eliza Bauers – Middle Hitter, Sioux Falls, S.D. / Roosevelt HS
Eliza Bauers is a 6-foot middle hitter out of Roosevelt High School. She started for the Rough Riders in 2022, notching 172 kills and 52 blocks. Bauers hit .266 on the year. In addition, she is a 2-time state qualifier in the high jump. She is the daughter of Michael and Jessica Bauers.
 
Aldridge's Thoughts:
"Eliza fills an immediate need in the middle with the graduation of Leah Koltz. Eliza has the ability to hit off of one foot, in front and behind the setter. We look forward to watching her grow in the game and in the weight room."
 

0Abby Meister – Defensive Specialist, Sioux Falls, S.D. / Harrisburg HS / Southwest Minnesota State
Abby Meister is a 5-foot-6 defensive specialist out of Harrisburg High School. Meister opened her collegiate career at Southwest Minnesota State in the fall of 2022. As a prep, she was a 4-year starter and team captain for the Tigers. Meister recorded 1,523 digs, 164 aces, and 859 kills in her career. She was a 3-time all-conference selection, 2-time all-state pick, all-metro honoree, and the 2021 South Dakota Miss Volleyball. As a Mustang, Meister tallied 234 digs and 31 aces. She is the daughter of Jason and Heidi Meister.
 
Aldridge's Thoughts:
"Abby has been on our radar since she was in high school. She plays the game with a lot of skill and competitive energy. We look forward to Abby joining us in the spring semester this year."
