Fan Primer: Wolves Set to Host Hardrockers in Sunday Match-Up

Aberdeen, S.D. â€“ The Northern State women’s basketball team is set to host in-state foe South Dakota Mines in a non-conference game in Wachs Arena. The Wolves and Hardrockers are scheduled for a 2 p.m. tip-off on Sunday afternoon.

Entrances to the Facility & Gate Opening Times

Fans will be able to enter the Barnett Center through both the north and south doors. Access to the south entrance is available through both Dakota Bank Stadium entrances off South State Street and 15th Ave SE. Ticket gates will be located at both the north and south doors of the Barnett Center, and will open one hour prior to tip-off for all general admission and same day ticket sales. Gates will open one hour prior to tip-off each game day. 

 

Online Ticketing

Wolves Club season tickets and general admission passes can be purchased online at nsuwolves.universitytickets.com or at the gate on game day. The fully automated system allows fans to select their seat for game day with tickets sent directly to your email or mobile device. Pricing for season and single game tickets is available at nsuwolves.com/tickets. Senior and youth tickets are only available for purchase at the gate on game days. All game day ticket sales will be available at both the North and South entrances of the Barnett Center. The Northern State passbook will be located at the north doors of the Barnett Center, individuals must sign in via the far right line at the ticket gate. There is no re-entry into the facility.

Current Northern State University students will receive one free ticket to all home sporting events throughout the 2022-23 academic. Information on how to claim student tickets will be distributed via email. 

 

Parking

The first three rows of parking in the Barnett Center main lot will be reserved for Wolves Club members with an annual parking pass, with free parking for all fans available in the following rows to the North.

 

Concessions and Team Store

The Northern State concession stands are operated by Sodexo and offer a wide range of options for fans of all ages. Enjoy an ice-cold Coca-Cola product, bite into a soft pretzel with cheese, a world famous Wolf dog, or walking taco. Don’t forget to grab a freshly made popcorn or batch of Wisconsin cheese curds from one of the concession stands near you at all home Wolves athletic events. The NSU Nike Team Store will be open in its main Barnett Center location on game day, opening one hour prior to tip-off.

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES

  • Northern State enters Sunday’s match-up with a record of 2-1 (1-0 NSIC), having won their last two games after dropping the season-opener
  • Northern opened NSIC play with a 59-58 win over MSU Moorhead on Wednesday night in Aberdeen
  • Laurie Rogers grabbed her seventh career double-double in the win with 18 points and 13 rebounds, she also recorded her 16th career game of three or more blocked shots with four in the contest
  • Jordyn Hilgemann tied her career high in scoring for the second consecutive game, scoring 12 points and was 2-3 from beyond the arc
  • Northern State is shooting the ball 34.4 percent from the field, 16.7 percent from 3-point range, and 73.9 percent from the free throw line
  • The Wolves are averaging 17.0 points per game from the free throw line through three games this season; NSU has made 11 or more free throws in all three games this season and shot 19-21 against MSUM
  • The Northern State bench is averaging 26.7 points per game, led by Hilgemann with 10.3 and Brynn Alfson with 6.0 points per game

  • South Dakota Mines enters Sunday’s match-up with a record of 0-3, having dropped a pair of games by single digit margins
  • The Hardrockers traveled to face Sioux Falls on Friday evening, dropping the game to the Cougars by a score of 64-57
  • Savea Mansfield and Sydnee Durtsche led Mines in scoring with 14 and ten points respectively, combined the duo shot the ball 8-10 from the field and was 8-8 from the free throw line against USF
  • Six players for South Dakota Mines are averaging 5.0 or more points per game, and are led by Piper Bauer as the lone player averaging double figures with 13.0 points per game
  • Madelyn Heiser adds 8.3 points per game and leads the Hardrockers in rebounds (6.0) and assists (3.0)
  • Mines is shooting the ball 39.3 percent from the field, 29.5 percent from 3-point range, and 67.3 percent from the free throw line
  • South Dakota Mines is averaging 6.0 made 3-pointers per game this season, and made a season high of eight in the season opener against Texas Permian Basin
