Northern State Continues Indoor Season at Mount Marty

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University men's and women's track and field teams are set to compete at the Mount Marty Invite tomorrow. Competition opens at 1 p.m. with the field events from Yankton.
 
NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
  • The Wolves are coming off a strong showing at the SDSU Division II Invite with 19 top-10 finishes
  • Three school records and one meet record were broken at the meet, with another school record added on Saturday from the Jim Emmerich Invite
  • Jackson Harrison took home the top spot in the 5000m, crossing the finish line in a school record time of 14:37.79
  • Tanner Berg opened his weekend winning the weight throw with a meet record 21.24m toss and went on to win the same event the following day in a school record mark of 22.58m
  • Glen Quayle won the pole vault, breaking the school record with a provisional jump of 4.90m
  • Megan Mooberry won the 5000m run with a time of 17:46.71 and added her second event victory running to a time of 3:12.13 in the 1000m
 
WOLVES WITH NATIONAL MARKS
  • Tanner Berg is ranked first nationally in the weight throw with a provisional mark of 22.58m, and also ranks 20th in the shot put with a 16.74m toss
  • Shona Juliana sits in 13th in the triple jump with her provisional mark of 12.02m and 17th in the long jump with a 5.72m mark
  • Jackson Harrison is ranked 14th in the 3000m with his time of 8:34.92
  • Glen Quayle is currently 15th in the pole vault, clearing 4.90m
 
SCHOOL RECORD WATCH
  • Juliana broke the triple jump school record at the SDSU Holiday Open with a mark of 12.02m; the previous record of 11.46m was set by Monique Ryckman in 1987
  • Juliana then broke her own school record in the long jump to open 2022 with a 5.73m mark
  • Jennifer Clark broke the 800m record of 2:19.93 set by Makayla Perryman in 2013
  • Jackson Harrison's time of 14:37.79 broke the 16 year old record of 14:38.11 held by Jeremy VanVleen
  • Glen Quayle surpassed the previous pole vault record of 4.80m set by Ross Pfeifle in 2009
  • Tanner Berg topped his own school record in the weight throw, tossing 22.58m, which is the third best throw all-time at the Division II level
