Fargo, N.D. – The small squad of seven Northern State track and field student-athletes tallied five top-5 finishes from the NDSU Bison Open. In addition, two Wolves tallied national provisional marks, each sitting in the top-10 of their respective events.
WOMEN'S TOP RESULTS
- Dakota Hutzler took third in the pentathlon with a school record 3,479 points, notching marks of 9.36 in the 60m hurdles, 1.60m in the high jump, 10.12m in the shot put, 5.38m in the long jump, and 2:29.04 in the 800m
- Hutzler finished in the top-5 in four events, including a day high second in the high jump
- Shona Juliana added a fifth place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.19m
- Jorydn Huneke grabbed the lone event victory for the Wolves, improving her season pole vault mark to 3.98m, which moves her up to fourth in the country
MEN'S TOP RESULTS
- Tafara Hondonga took third in the 400m, recording a time of 50.81
- Terry Towah notched a fourth place finish in the 200m with a time of 22.70
- Maxwell Geditz took 13th in the heptathlon with 3,856 points, notching marks of 7.67 in the 60m, 5.77m in the long jump, 8.35m in the shot put, 1.82m in the high jump, 10.72 in the 60m hurdles, 3.55m in the pole vault, and 2:54.39 in the 1000m
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- Hutzler hit a national provisional standard in the pentathlon and currently ranks eighth with a converted point total of 3,501
