Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State women's basketball team is set to open the 2021-22 season with an exhibition game against cross town Presentation College at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES

• Northern State went 5-9 (4-8 NSIC) in the 2021 season, finishing sixth place in the North Division
• In the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll the Wolves were picked to finish 11^th overall and fifth in the North Division
• Rianna Fillipi was chosen as the Player to Watch for the Wolves in the NSIC Season Preview, last season she was second on the team averaging 10.6 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, and led the team with 2.8 assists and 2.6 steals per game
• Lexi Roe is another key returner to watch for Northern State, as she led the team with 12.2 points and 6.6 rebounds per game
• Both Fillipi and Roe were all conference performers last season, Fillipi was named the NSIC North Division Freshmen of the Year while Roe was named to the North Division Second Team
• As a team Northern averaged 62.9 points, 34.5 rebounds, and 11.5 assists per game in 2021
• Last season NSU shot 40.0 percent on field goal attempts, 35.2 percent from beyond the three-point line, and 74.2 percent at the free throw line
