11 Wolves Place on Day One of NDSU Bison Open

Fargo, N.D. – The Northern State University track and field teams tallied ten top-10 finishes from the opening day of the NDSU Bison Open.
 
MEN
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Tanner berg tallied a second place finish in the weight throw, tossing 21.11m on his third attempt of the afternoon
  • Devin Sheridan recorded a third place finish in the 600m run with a time of 1:22.66
  • Jorge Garcia added a top-10 placing in the 1000m run, crossing the finish line at 2:39.77
  • Three Wolves landed in the top-10 of the 300m dash, led by senior Isaiha Fletcher in third with a time of 34:92; his mark broke the previous school record held by Jake Hamik (35.09)
  • Tafara Hondonga and Ronald Stephenson followed in seventh and tenth with marks of 36.06 and 37.56 respectively
  • Through the first day of the heptathlon Bryce Malsam sits seventh with 2,756 points and Kelson Brewer sits 15th with 2,421 points
  • Malsam recorded marks of 7.18 in the 60m dash, 6.38m in the long jump, 11.98m in the shot put, and 1.89m in the high jump
  • Brewer notched marks of 7.34 in the 60m dash, 6.13m in the long jump, 10.06m in the shot put, and 1.71m in the high jump
 
WOMEN
HIGHLIGHTS
  • Isabel Kinzer was the top Division II finisher in the 300m run, taking sixth with a time of 42.08
  • Grace Elvert placed seventh in the pentathlon with 2,385 points; she recorded marks of 10.84 in the 60m hurdles, 1.43m in the high jump, 5.95m in the shot put, 4.79m in the long jump, and 2:45.94 in the 800m run
  • The distance medley relay team of Megan Mooberry, Destiny Wenger, Jennifer Clark, and Madison Leapaldt won the event with a time of 13:16.57
  • Kealy Hill won the pole vault with a school record mark of 3.96m, moving the sophomore up to fifth nationally in the event
