Track and Field Takes on the NSIC Indoor Challenge

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field teams head to the Minnesota State NSIC Indoor Challenge tomorrow. Competition opens at 11 a.m. with the field events from the Myers Field House. In addition, the Wolves pole vaulters will head to SDSU and Brookings.
 
QUICK HITS ON THE WOLVES
  • Just two meets remain for NSU prior to the NSIC Championships February 28-29 in Mankato
  • The top-30 in each event (top-24 in the 200m and 400m) qualify for the NSIC Championships
  • Both the Northern State men and women took fourth from the NDSU Bison Open last weekend notching 76 and 68 team points respectively
  • Jackson Harrison won the 5000m run with a time of 15:57.11, while Megan Mooberry won the women's race with a time of 19:11.03
  • Isaiha Fletcher tallied his second 200m dash victory of the season, crossing the finish line at 22.51
  • Kealy Hill won the pole vault with a school record mark of 3.96m

CURRENT NATIONAL PROVISIONAL & QUALIFYING MARKS
  • Kealy Hill ranks seventh nationally in the pole vault with her school record mark of 3.96m from the NDSU Bison Open
  • Jordan Menken ranks 27th in the nation in the shot put with a 14.11m throw versus Jamestown
  • Bryce Malsam ranks 28th in the nation in the high jump clearing 2.04m at the Dakota Classic
  • Tanner Berg leads the nation with an automatic qualifying mark in the weight throw, recording a 21.50m school record toss at the DWU Alumni Open
 
SCHOOL RECORD WATCH
  • Tanner Berg re-broke his own weight throw record at the DWU Alumni Open, with a 21.50m throw; the toss was also a meet record and is the top mark in NCAA Division II
  • Isaiha Fletcher broke the 200m record by .03 seconds crossing the finish line at 22.08 at the SDSU Division II Invite
  • Fletcher added his second record of the season at the NDSU Bison Open, notching a time of 34.92 in the 300m dash
  • Kealy Hill crushed her own school record in the pole vault from the NDSU Bison Open, clearing 3.96m and moving into the top-10 nationally in the event
