Burnsville, Minn. – The Northern State University volleyball team landed two NSIC Players of the Week following their opening weekend versus Alaska Fairbanks, Dallas Baptist, (RV) Colorado Mesa, and (RV) Colorado Mines.
Ashley Rozell was named the NSIC Setter of the Week, while
Laura Snyder brought home NSIC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Rozell was named to the Oredigger Classic All-Tournament team for the Wolves, who went 4-0 on the weekend. She dished out 170 total assists, averaging 13.08 per set, which ranked second from the Classic. In addition, the senior added nine kills, five service aces, 6.0 blocks, and 33 digs. She opened the year with 42 assists against Alaska Fairbanks, averaging 14.00 per set, and tallied a season high 54 against Mines.
Snyder was an offensive power for the Wolves, leading the tournament averaging 4.23 kills per set with 55 total through four matches. The right side added 12 assists, 25 digs, and 4.0 blocks, while hitting .441 on the weekend. Snyder tallied a season high 17 kills and nine digs against (RV) Colorado School of Mines, and hit a season high .619 versus Alaska Fairbanks.
The Wolves return to action this weekend at the Drury Invitational.
