Kastigar brings home second NCAA runner-up finish of 2019

Indianapolis – Northern State senior Hannah Kastigar swam to her third All-American performance of 2019 this evening, taking second overall in the 200 fly. She is now a 7-time NCAA All-American for the Wolves.

Kastigar opened her day with a prelims time of 2:00.26, seeding her third heading into finals. The top four racers heading into the finals heat were within six tenths of a second of each other.

She was on pace with the leader through the first 50 meters, however Tori Sopp extended her lead in the second leg. Kastigar battled back swimming the fastest third leg of the heat, 30.60 seconds, but came up just shy as the pair hit the wall. The Aberdeen native finished with a time of 1:58.85, improving from her prelims mark.

Kastigar will finish competition tomorrow from the NCAA Championships in the 200 breaststroke. Stay tuned to @nsuwolves_sw on Twitter for up to the minute updates on race start times and finishes.
