NORTHERN WRAPS UP NSIC CHAMPIONSHIPS IN TENTH

WEST FARGO, N.D. – Northern State concluded the 2025-26 NSIC Swimming and Diving Championships tonight, taking 10th place in the conference and earning one individual top ten finish today.

PRELIMS
  • In the 1-meter dive, junior diver Jacie Flockhart took ninth with a score of 356.35 in the preliminary round
  • Five Wolves competed in the 100-yard IM, with Marie Loest earning 19th at 1:02.41, while Ella Wanschura (1:02.85), Emma Beavers (1:05.42), Lorelai Grund (1:05.49) and Riley Vraniak (1:07.80) followed in 22nd, 28th, 29th and 30th, respectively
  • Emma Moore qualified for the finals in the 100-yard freestyle, swimming a time of 54.35 seconds for 20th, with teammate Maya Hentges (29th) also finishing in the top 30 at 55.82
  • In the same event, Mazie Finch tied MSU Moorhead swimmer Tressa Baumgard for 31st place, swimming the event in 56 seconds flat, while Ilyanna Haigler was the final placing Wolf, taking 38th (1:00.74)
  • Loest took 17th in the 200-yard breaststroke event, etching a time of 2:29.04, while Wanschura finished in 19th at 2:30.76, Beavers nabbed 25th at 2:35.42 (final nonqualifying time), and Vraniak finished 30th at 2:55.80
  • Freshman swimmer Sydney Rogers finished two spots shy of qualifying in the 200-yard backstroke, swimming a time of 2:14.50 for 26th
 
FINALS
  • Flockhart followed up her prelims dive with a score of 355.15, earning 10th place in the finals
  • Loest dropped her time by four hundredths of a second in the finals of the 200-yard breaststroke, taking 15th (2:29.00), while freshman Wanschura tallied a 2:31.73 finish for 20th
  • In the 100-yard freestyle, Moore took 24th at 54.45 seconds
