Wolves Swimming has 33 season bests on Day one and 31 seasons Bests on day two

Rochester, Minn. – Northern State swimming has a strong day one at the Rochester Invite ending the first day second amongst NSIC teams.

DAY ONE HIGHLIGHTS
  • NSU swimming ended day one sitting in fifth place (second amongst NSIC teams) out of 14 schools
  • Northern got things started in the 800 free relays as they put up a time of 7 minutes and 56.65 seconds as they grabbed a tenth-place finish
  • The Wolves also placed 15th in the 800 free relay with a time of 8:07.62, 20th with a time of 8:17.71, and rounding out the top 25 with a time of 8:43.79
  • Josie Gillund swam her way into the finals in the 500 as she places 23rd with a time of 5:26.85
  • The Wolves in the 400-medley relay secured a tenth-place finish and ranking tenth overall in the NSIC with a time of 4:01.23 and 14th with a time of 4:03.90
  • Kirsten Collingwood finished the 500 free with a lifetime best of 5:35.16 in preliminaries
  • NSU on day one of competition recorded 33 season best times and 12 lifetime bests
DAY TWO HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Wolves continued to beat their own season and lifetime bests on Day two with 29 new season bests and 7 new lifetime bests
  • Lauren Forsyth in the 200 fly set a new freshmen record of 2:10.03
  • Northern States 200 medley relay team composed Murdock, Asuncion, Forsyth and Gillund took 11th overall
  • Gillund took 22nd overall to score three team points in the 500 free
  • Doran, Gillund, Williams, and Avila took 21st, 22nd, 23rd, and 24th in the 50 free
  • Asuncion won her head in the 100 breast taking 17th overall and bringing NSU 10 points
  • 200 free relay the Wolves had three teams in the top 24
  • The C relay team took 24th, B relay in at 20th and Relay A composed of Avila, Williams, Doran, and Gillund brings NSU a finish of 12th overall
  • In the finals tonight the Wolves has another 31 season best times with 14 personal lifetime bests
