Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field team returns to action this Saturday from the Thundering Herd Classic in Fargo. Competition opens up at 11 a.m. with the field events and 1 p.m. with running events from the Shelly Ellig Indoor Track and Field Facility.
 
Last Time Out
- The Wolves opened the 2018-19 season with 15 personal records, two school record, and two national provisional mark from the SDSU Holiday Invite
- Northern scored eight team points on the men's side and five team points on the women's side from the meet
 
Quick Hits on the NSU Women
- Jordan Menken led the team with a school record and national provisional mark of 14.07m in the shot put finishing third overall in the event. Menken also notched a personal record in the weight
- Sonia Alaman took third in the high jump with a personal record of 1.65m
- Hanneke Oosterwegel was the top Division II finisher in the 60m hurdles, taking fifth with a time of 8.94. She also placed fourth in the 200m
- Emma Rezac took fifth in the 400m dash with a time of 59.39
- The Northern State women were picked seventh overall in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll with 106 points
- Oosterwegel and Menken were tabbed as the team's athletes to watch following their strong 2017-18 seasons
 
Quick Hits on the NSU Men
- Tanner Berg led the team winning the weight throw with a school record and provisional mark of 20.25m. He nearly notched a provo as well in the shot put with a 16.05m toss, just .02 off the standard.
- Bryce Malsam advanced to finals in the 60m hurdles and finished sixth overall with a time of 8.46
- Itoitz Rodriguez took fifth in the 400m dash, crossing the line at 49.50
- The Northern State men were picked ninth overall in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll with 29 points
- Berg and Rodriguez were tabbed as the team's athletes to watch following their strong 2017-18 seasons
