Wolves head east to match-up with St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State women's basketball is heading east this weekend to face St. Cloud State and Minnesota Duluth. Friday night the women face-off against St. Cloud State with a 5:30 tip, on Saturday the Wolves match-up with the Bulldogs with tip-off scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
 
Quick Hit on the Wolves:
 
   * The Northern State women's basketball team is coming off the weekend with losses over RV Augustana and Wayne State.
    * The Wolves are shooting 39.5 percent from the floor, 30.8 percent from the 3-point line, and 72.7 percent from the foul line this season.
    * They are averaging 59.4 points, 39.1 rebounds, 11.8 assists, 14.4 turnovers, 4.6 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game; out-scoring their opponents by 0.1 points and out-rebounding their opponents by 9.3 boards per game.
    * NSU leads the NSIC in rebounding margin, in large part to junior Brianna Kusler who leads the league in rebounds per game.
    * In addition, the Wolves currently sit top-5 in the NSIC in scoring defense.

    * Zoe Hardwick leads the team in efficiency shooting 48.1 percent from the field.
    * Anika Fredrick has started all 18 games thus far, averaging 6.8 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.
    * Jessi Marti now with seven games on the season after being out due to an injury. She is averaging 5.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, with nine assists, and five steals.
 
About St. Cloud State:
 
      * The Huskies enter the weekend with a 10-6 overall record and 7-5 record in the NSIC.
      * St. Cloud State is shooting 39.8 percent from the floor, 32.9 percent from the 3-point line, and 73.3 percent from the foul line. The Huskies sits top-5 in the league in scoring defense, scoring margin, field goal percentage defense, 3-point field goal percentage defense, blocked shots, turnover margin, and assist/turnover ratio.
      * Shelby Selland and Mallie Doucette lead the team with 12.6 points per game. Wortz is also shooting a team high 40.0 percent from the the three point line and fourth on the team with 40.0 percent from the field. Dammann leads the team with 29 made three pointers this year while shooting 33.0 percent from behind the arc.
      * Nikki Kilbroten is leading the conference in blocked shots with 2.8 per game. She is leading the team in rebounds per game with 6.3 rebounds a game.
                * Katrina Thesis is leading the team in field goal percentage shooting 48.6 percent, second on the team is Dammann.* Mackenzie Uter is leading the team and is 11th in the conference in assists with 2.9 per game in conference play.
      * St. Cloud State is led by head coach Lori Fish in her 11th season at the helm.

     * The Wolves picked up the season sweep last season picking up an 84-83 overtime victory at Duluth and a 57-44 win on the last weekend of the regular season.
     Northern is 33-31 all-time versus Minnesota Duluth, winning the last 13 games against the Bulldogs.
