Tucson, Ariz. – Northern State University baseball team splits against Concordia University Friday. The Wolves record is now 4-3 on the season.
In game one the Wolves got the scoring started right away putting five up in the top of the first inning. Concordia would respond in the second inning with four runs to cut the lead to 5-4. The last run of the game was one run for Northern State in the fourth inning to take a two run lead.
Ben Carolin led the Wolves with two hits, one run scored, one run batted in, and walked once.
Lucas Lorenz had one hit, one run, one walk, and one run batted in.
Dakota Stilson had one hit, one run, and two runs batted in.
Kolin Kubitz had one hit, one run scored, and one run batted in.
Mikey Adams added one hit and one run scored for the Wolves.
Jack Schmidt had one hit.
Zach Harford picked up his second win of the season going four innings, giving up four hits, four earned runs, walked three, and had four strikeouts.
Holt Hunziker picked up the save going three innings, giving up three hits, and struck out one batter.
In game two Concordia started the scoring pushing across one run in the top of the first. Northern State pushed in one run in the first and second inning to take a 2-1 lead after two innings of play. Concordia added seven runs to take an 8-2 lead. Northern pushed one run across in the bottom of the third inning to cut the lead to 8-3. Concordia added three more runs in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 11-3. NSU answered with five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to cut the lead to 11-8. In the sixth inning the Bulldogs added three runs to give them a six run advantage. The Wolves put of three of their own in the sixth inning but it wasn't enough to pick up the sweep over Concordia.
Dakota Stilson led the Wolves with two hits and three runs batted in. Schmidt had two hits, one run scored, and two runs batted in.
Kolin Kubitz had one hit, two runs scored, and walked once.
Seth Sullwold had one hit and one run scored.
Hayden Hall had one hit, walked once, and scored one run. Jeff Disla had one run scored and one run batted in.
Patrick Leary had one hit and scored one run.
Lucas Lorenz had two runs scored and had two runs batted in.
Colten Landreth took the loss for the Wolves going two and one third of an inning giving up eight hits, six earned runs, one walk, and two strikeouts.
Mike Wiesmann went two thirds of an inning giving up one run, on one hit, had two walks, and one strikeout.
Lucas Heiser went one inning giving up three runs on three hits, walked one, and struck out two.
Nate Zeise went one and two thirds innings giving up one run, on one hit, and struck out three.
Andrew Nichols pitched one third of an inning giving up two runs and two hits.
Kyle Beardsley pitched the seventh inning giving up one hit, walked one, and had one strikeout.
The Wolves are back in action Saturday Afternoon against Concordia-St. Paul. First Pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. (CT) against the Golden Bears.
