Box Score Winona, Minn.- A potent offense and solid defense, led the No. 19 Northern State University volleyball team to their second Top-25 victory of the 2017 season. The Wolves defeated the No. 9 Warriors, of Winona State, 3-1 on the road. With the win, NSU improves to 11-1 overall, and 4-0 in league action, while handing WSU their fourth loss of the season, and second in league play.

After falling 25-21 in the first set, the Wolves stormed for three straight victories. Northern took the second set 25-23, and did not look back winning the third and fourth sets with scores of 25-17 and 25-13. Â

Offensively the Wolves tallied just eight attack errors, hitting .358 in the match. Northern tallied 56 kills to the Warriors 61, however Winona State suffered 25 attack errors in 159 swings. NSU was a force at the net with eight blocks to Winona's one. The Wolves added 52 assists, 63 digs, and eight service aces in the win.

Laura Snyder led the team with a career high 16 kills. The freshman suffered just two errors in the match, hitting a team leading .483 while adding six digs, two aces, and one assist. Fellow freshman,
Regan Dennis was second on the team with 13 kills and a .343 attack percentage. Also hitting above .400 was
Jenna Reiff with a .421 mark, notching nine kills and a team leading four blocks.

Holly Vancura and
Morgan Baufield rounded out the starters with eight kills apiece, hitting above .300 in the match.
Lexi Lockhart tallied the final two kills for the team, hitting .400 with no errors.
Ashley Rozell paced the offense with 48 total assists, averaging 12.00 per set. The sophomore added five digs, two blocks, and one ace.

Jaiden Langlie led the Wolves defense with 19 digs, averaging 4.75 per set, followed by Vancura with 18 of her own. Langlie also notched a team leading two aces, alongside Snyder and Baufield.
Alyssa Deobler and
Lexi Boesl recorded eight and five digs respectively appearing in all four sets. Vancura, Rozell, Snyder, and Dennis each tallied two blocks aiding the Wolves defensive effort.

Northern returns to action tomorrow for a 2 p.m. match against the Upper Iowa Peacocks in Fayette.
