Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University women's basketball team returns home tomorrow for a 7 p.m. match-up against Texas A&M International University. The Wolves will also face Jamestown in JV action beginning at 5 p.m. in Wachs Arena.
NSU opened the season against two top-25 opponents going 1-1 with a win over No. 3 Harding (83-78) and loss to No. 13 Central Missouri (82-65). The Wolves shot 43.5 percent from the floor, 30.8 percent from the arc, and 82.4 percent from the foul line in the two games. Northern averaged 74.0 points, 40.0 rebounds, 11.0 assists, 15.5 turnovers, 5.0 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game. They out-rebounded their opponents in each contest (40-31 and 40-35), sitting at +7.0 through the two games.
Miranda Ristau lead the team averaging 19.5 points per game, with 39 in the two games. The senior shot 60.7 percent from the floor and 80.0 percent from the foul line.
Jessi Marti and
Brianna Kusler each tallied career highs against the Bison with 20 and 16 points respectively, as both sophomores tallied two starts.
Alexis Tappe led the team with 17 rebounds and seven assists.
About the Dustdevils
• Texas A&M International opened the 2017-18 season with two games against Chadron State and Black Hills on November 10th and 11th.
• The Dustdevils were picked seventh overall in the Preseason Poll for the Heartland Conference.
• TAMIU welcomes three freshman, two sophomore transfers, and six junior transfers in 2017-18, including three players with international experience.
• Veshae Asaua-Wilkinson is the lone returner on the roster, entering her second season. She appeared in just two games in 2016-17.

• The Dustdevils are led by head coach Jeff Caha in his second season with the program.
• TAMIU went 2-25 in Caha's first season at the helm, with their two victories coming in conference play.
