Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University women's basketball team concluded the 2016 portion of their season with a home sweep, defeating Concordia- St. Paul 66-52 and Minnesota State 62-47. With the two victories, the Wolves are now 10-2 overall and 6-2 in conference action.
As a team, Northern is shooting 45.2% from the floor, 37.0% from the arc, and 70.9% from the foul line, while averaging 65.7 points, 37.6 rebounds, 16.1 assists, 13.9 turnovers, 6.4 steals and 4.3 blocks per game.
The Wolves have been strong on defense this season in league games sitting third in field goal percentage defense (34.2), first in 3-point field goal percentage defense (26.1), and third in defensive rebounds (28.8).
Miranda Ristau led the Wolves last weekend with a combined 36 points and 18 rebounds against the Golden Bears and the Mavericks. The junior continues to lead the team with an average of 15.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game.
Northern State will tip off against U-Mary at 6 p.m. on Friday from the McDowell Activity Center and will face Minot State at 4 p.m. on Saturday from the MSU Dome.
