Wolves Face Golden Bears and Mavericks to Close December

Aberdeen, S.D. – After dropping just their second contest of the 2016-17 season to MSU Moorhead, the Wolves look to bounce back at home this weekend, facing Concordia- St. Paul and Minnesota State. The Northern State women enter the final games of 2016 with an 8-2 record overall and 4-2 mark in league games.

As a unit, the Wolves are shooting 45.2% from the floor, 36.1% from the arc, and 75.0% from the foul line, while averaging 66.0 points, 37.3 rebounds, 15.9 assists, 14.1 turnovers, 6.3 steals and 4.1 blocks per game. NSU has been strong defensively this season in conference games sitting second in field goal percentage defense (34.1), fifth in 3-point field goal percentage defense (29.4), and third in defensive rebounds (34.6).

Miranda Ristau is having a solid junior campaign leading the team in points (154), scoring average (15.4), rebounds (7.6), and blocked shots (1.9). She is also leading the starters with a 54.2 field goal percentage. Jill Conrad is second on the team in points (152), points per game (15.2), and rebounds (6.7). Conrad also leads the team averaging 5.2 defensive boards per game and 35 made free throws, ranking first in the NSIC with an average of 1.000.

The Wolves will take on Concordia- St. Paul at 6 p.m. on Friday and tip-off against Minnesota State at 4 p.m. on Saturday, with the men's games to follow.
