Box Score Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University women's basketball team defeated Concordia Moorhead 81-39 in an exhibition match-up to begin the 2016-17 season. The Wolves saw minutes from 14 different players in the four quarter game.
Junior 
Miranda Ristau aided NSU in going on a 6-0 run to begin the match. Ristau exploded for 13 points in the first quarter to give the Wolves a 22-17 advantage.
Northern State created a scoring spread through the following two quarters, holding the Cobbers to just 11 points in the next 20 minutes.
Concordia Moorhead tacked on 11 additional points in the final quarter, however, it was not enough to spike a comeback.
As a team, the Wolves shot 47.1 percent from field goal range and 41.7 percent from the three-point arc. NSU outrebounded the Cobbers 58-25 on the boards, with 21 total assists from 10 different players.
Miranda Ristau led the Wolves offensively, scoring 22 points in 15 minutes of action. Ristau shot 83.3 percent from the floor, collected five total rebounds and recorded six blocks. Junior 
Jill Conrad and freshman 
Brianna Kusler aided Northern State with eight points each, while 
Paige Waytashek and 
Sara Tvedt logged seven a piece in the contest.
The Wolves will face Black Hills State on Tuesday, November 15
th. The two teams will tipoff at 6 p.m. from Wachs Arena.
