Box Score 2 The Wolves (25-22, 18-16 NSIC) had a tough time getting anything going against the top team in the nation,#1 St. Cloud State (45-3, 29-3 NSIC). Northern State lost by scores of 13-2 and 14-2.
Game 1
Senior starter
Kassidy Gaines (2-2) was unable to get through the 4th inning as the Huskies cruised out to an early 8-0. That's all St. Cloud starter Kyle Bolder needed as he went 6 solid innings for his 4th win of the season by winning 13-2. The Wolves were limited to 6 hits offensively. Getting the hits was

Jack Schmidt,
Alex Cornwell,
Buddy Traxler,
Clayton Nutting and
Patrick Leary. Leary, a redshirt freshman catcher, hit his first career homerun in the game. The Huskies were led by Senior catcher Michael Jurgella. Jurgella went 4-4 with 2 homeruns and 3 RBIs.
Game 2
The Huskies got out to a quick 12-0 lead in the first innings off starter
Shawn Powers (0-6) and reliver
James Georgakas. Powers went 2 innings giving up 5 runs and Georgakas only collected one out giving up 7 runs, with 6 being earned. SCSU starter Ryan Diers (7-0) had no problems with the Wolves offense. Diers only gave up 2 hits during his outing. One real bright spot was freshman pitcher
Andrew Nichols, who came in relief of Georgakas. Nichols threw 4.1 and gave up no earned runs. Again the Wolves only got 6 hits in game 2.

Jake Samuelson each had one hit.
Robert Fahlin went 2-3 in the game for the Wolves.
Northern State will finish the regular season tomorrow starting at noon. Between games Northern State will be having a ceremony for the Seniors playing their last games at Fossum Field.
