Before arriving at NSU, Powers spent two seasons at Treasure Valley CC where he was a Second Team All-Conference pitcher and was the winning pitcher in the East Regional Championship game twice ... compiled a record of 14-6 with an ERA of 2.9 in his two seasons ... pitched 70-plus innings both years ... in high school, Powers was an All-State pitcher after going 8-1 with a 1.8 ERA his senior season
