Box Score Bemidji, Minn. – The Northern State University women's basketball team ended the regular season with a victory over Bemidji State on the road. The 78-54 win, pushes the Wolves to 22-6 overall and 16-6 in league play. The Wolves have secured both home court advantage in the opening round of the NSIC Championships, and the title of the NSIC North Division for the second consecutive year.
The Wolves were led by senior
Sadie Stotesbery with 19 points and four rebounds in the game.
Rachel Krogman was the second wolf in double-digit scoring with 14 in the game. Krogman added eight rebounds, two assist, and three steals. Ten NSU players scored in the game with
Devon Brecke,
Sami Smith, and
Jill Conrad each recording five points.
Megan Mutchler and
Paige Waytashek tallied six points apiece.
Northern compiled 28 points off the bench, led by freshmen
Miranda Ristau with nine in the game. Ristau added four rebounds, one assist, and one steal for NSU.
Lauren Deadrick matched Ristau with four rebounds, while tallying seven points of her own.
Jessica Anderson was the final point scorer, with two points in the win.
NSU shot 47.3 percent from the floor, led by Stotesbery who was 7-of-9 in the game. For the second game in as many days, the Wolves out-rebounded their opponents by 20 or more boards. A total of 16, of Northern's 42 rebounds, were offensive boards resulting in 21 team points. Northern tallied 24 points off 14 BSU turnovers, and 24 points in the paint.
The women will return to Wachs Arena for the opening round of the NSIC Championships, beginning Wednesday, February 25
th. The Wolves will tip-off at 6 p.m. from the Barnett Center, with a visiting team to be determined.
