Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State football team earned the NSIC North Division Title this season with a 6-5 record overall and 6-1 record in divisional play. NSU head coach
Tom Dosch has announced the captains for the 2015 season, as voted on by members of the team.
Devin Olson,
Chad Stoterau,
Tyler Robel, and
Conner Doherty were elected captain, which is the highest honor awarded to members of the football program. The honor marks the second season that senior
Devin Olson was voted captain by his peers.
Olson started in all 11 games for the Wolves and led the team with 87 total tackles. The senior recorded 8 tackles for a total loss of 55 yards. He also notched a sack and two forced fumbles. Devin recorded three games with double-digit tackles and a season high 15 versus Upper Iowa.
Stoterau started all 11 games for the Wolves and tallied 51 total tackles. The junior tallied 6 tackles for a total loss of 28 yards and 3.5 sacks for a total loss of 22 yards. Chad recorded a season high 14 tackles versus MSU Moorhead.
Robel started in eight games for the Wolves battling injuries throughout the season. The junior was a main stay on the offensive line for the past three seasons.
Doherty started all 11 games for the Wolves and recorded three touchdowns on the year. Conner recorded 514 yards receiving in 41 receptions with a 52 yard long versus Wayne State. He also recorded a season high 143 yards receiving versus the Wildcats.
