Aberdeen, S.D.- The Northern State University women's basketball team gears up for their first games of the 2015-16 season this weekend from the Wayne State Classic. The Wolves will take on William Jewell College at 8 p.m. on Friday and Lindenwood University at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Both games will be held in the Rice Auditorium from Wayne, Nebraska.
NSU returns this year after an impressive 2014-15 season, winning their first ever NSIC championship over No. 17 Wayne State, advancing their way to the Central Region Tournament as the sixth seed and finishing the season 26-7 overall. Returners,

Devon Brecke look to make an impact once again for the Wolves.
With an overall career record of 773-285 (.731), head coach
Curt Fredrickson continues to demonstrate his commitment to the women's basketball program in his 37
th season with the team.
About William Jewell CollegeCompeting in three games in the 2015-16 season, the Cardinals have posted a 1-2 record falling to the University of Alaska Anchorage and California State University Dominguez Hills, while defeating the New York Institute of Technology. The team finished the 2014-15 season with an overall record of 15-12. William Jewell returns two of their leading scorers, Maddie Nelson (10.9 ppg) and Ashley Pitrof (9.5 ppg). In the 2015-16 season, freshman Blair Klostermann has been leading in scoring and rebounding, averaging 15.7 ppg and picking up 22 rebounds total.
About Lindenwood UniversityThe Lindenwood Lions have played one exhibition game in the 2015-16 season, falling to Illinois State 71-70. The team finished with an overall record of 11-16 last year, and returns 12 players. Leading statistically for the Lions this season has been freshman CeCe Rapp and junior Kassidy Gengenbacher. Rapp put up 20 points, while Gengenbacher followed with 19 in their first contest. Lindenwood has outscored opponents 34-26 in the paint. The Lions are coached by Tony Francis, in his sixth year with the team.
