Aberdeen, S.D. - The Northern State University women's basketball will continue their home stand this weekend against Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State. The Wolves are now 17-3 overall and 13-3 in the NSIC, while they lead the conference north division. Game times are set for 6 p.m., Friday versus the Bulldogs, and 5 p.m., Saturday versus the Huskies, from Wachs Arena.

The Wolves are coming off a weekend sweep of Winona State and Upper Iowa from home. Game one put the Wolves on top of the Warriors 58-44, as NSU held WSU to a team field goal percentage of 27.9 from the floor. Northern broke the NSIC single game rebound record this season pulling down 62 on the night. Game two of the weekend saw the Wolves defeating the Peacocks 80-54, after scoring 50 points in the first half of play. The Wolves shot a season high 53.2 percent from the floor in the win. Northern continues to see its time on the WBCA's top 25 poll in the 22nd spot. This is the third week in a row that the Wolves have been on the national radar.

Minnesota Duluth

The Bulldogs are 3-7 since the holiday break falling to fellow NSIC division leader and nationally ranked opponent Wayne State. Duluth's three wins have come against Winona State, Upper Iowa, and Augustana.

Earlier this Season

Just two short weeks ago the Wolves defeated the Bulldogs 70-59 from Duluth. Kusler led NSU with 24 points in the game. Flood was the leading scorer for UMD on the night with 15 points.

St. Cloud State

The Huskies are 5-5 since the holiday break matching up against some difficult south division competition in the Wildcats and Vikings. St. Cloud sits third in the NSIC north after moving up above U-Mary this week.

Earlier this Season

The Husies outlasted the Wolves in the match-up two weekends ago, although Kusler led the team with 24 points. SCSU was able to edge NSU by three points after seeing one more player with double-digit scores. Northern must cut down on costly turnovers this time around to secure the victory.
