Aberdeen, S.D. - wo key free-throws, with seven seconds left, by Northern State University junior Rachel Krogman sealed the Wolf victory of Concordia-St. Paul in Saturday basketball action with a score of 61-59. The Wolves have now won seven straight, with an overall record of 12-2 and NSIC record of 8-2. NSU handed CU, who has seen time in the top 25 in the nation, their fourth conference loss of the year.

Four different wolf players saw double digit points led by Sadie Stotesbery with 18 on the night. Stotesbery also notched her first double-double of the season, as she crashed the glass for 13 rebounds. Megan Mutchler was just shy of a double-double of her own, scoring 12 points and bringing down nine rebounds. Both Alison Kusler and Paige Waytashek dropped buckets for 11 points apiece in the game. Kusler continued to shot well from the line going a perfect 6-6.

Northern ended the first half play up by three, 29-26, while leading the entire 20 minutes. As a team the Wolves shot a season high 87.5 percent from the free-throw line scoring a total of 14 points. Although CU out-rebounded NSU in the game, was able to grab 13 offensive rebounds for 11 second chance points. Waytashek had three of the teams four blocks in the contest, a season and career high for the freshman.

A tough night in the paint from Krogman, brought out another side of her game as she tallied a season high seven assists, while also adding 14 rebounds. Krogman's free-throws held the Wolves atop the Golden Bears, as CU leading scorer Anika Whiting drained a three point basket with seconds remaining in the game.

The Wolves will now spend two straight weekends on the road beginning with Minnesota Crookston (1/17) and Bemidji State (1/18). Game times are set for 6 p.m. and 4 p.m. respectively from Crookston and Bemidji.
