ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Northern State women's basketball program was the only team in the NSIC North to hand the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears a loss in regular-season play, but was unable to replicate the performance on Saturday, falling 80-65 in the quarterfinal round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference/Sanford Health post-season tournament.

The loss ends Northern State's season at 16-12 overall.  The Golden Bears claimed their 15th straight win and 20th in their last 21, the lone loss in that stretch coming to the Wolves back on Jan. 15 in St. Paul.

Northern State rallied from a 12-point deficit in the first half to tie things up at 28-all with 4:05 left in the half.  CU, however, outscored the Wolves 12-1 in the final 3:48 to go into the half leading by 11 at 40-29.

NSU got to within seven in the early going of the second half, but the Golden Bears, but six treys in the second stanza and 11 for the game kept CU just out of reach of the Wolves.

Sophomore Rachel Krogman notched a 23-point, 11-rebound double-double for the Wolves, while Alison Kusler added an even dozen on the scoreboard.

That effort, however, was not enough to overcome four Golden Bears in double figures, led by Anika Whiting's 19 and Rachel Hansen's 16.  Mandy Poke came off the bench for a trio of three-pointers and finished with 13 points and seven rebounds.
