Aberdeen, S.D. - After a two loss weekend the Northern State University women's basketball team is ready to return home for two NSIC match-ups with Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State.
NSU is 5-2 overall and 1-2 in NSIC as they look to continue to stay hot from Wachs Arena. Senior
Alison Kusler blew past 900 career points last weekend and currently sits at 911 moving in to week three of the conference season.
The Wolves split with both the Golden Eagles and Beavers a season ago with both squads returning a large number of starters. The keys for the games for NSU, are to continue to play well from the paint while decreasing total team turnovers and missed free-throws.
Minnesota Crookston
The Golden Eagles ended the 2012-13 season with a record of 8-19 (5-17 NSIC). The squad returns three starters from a year ago. UMC scored a staggering 104 points against Bemidji State in their NSIC opening win this season. Crookston is also coming off a two loss weekend as they fell to Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State.
Bemidji State
The Beavers ended the 2012-13 with a record of 11-16 (7-15 NSIC). The roster lost only oen starter moving in to the current year with a wealth of experience in three senior starters. BSU's only conference win comes against St. Cloud State with a score of 99-82. Kate Warmack currently leads the NSIC in scoring average and block average.
Game times are set for 6 p.m. versus UMC, Friday December 13th and 5 p.m. versus BSU, Saturday December 14th from the Barnett Center on the campus of Northern State University.
