Aberdeen, S.D. - The Northern State Women's Basketball teams falls on the road to Bemidji State University, 57-64. The Beavers move to 8-10 on the season and 4-10 in the NSIC, while the Wolves five game winning streak is snapped, falling to 13-5 overall and 9-5 in the loop.
Saturday's match up marked the first start of the season for sophmore
MacKinzie Magner, who contributed two points, assists and rebounds each. The Wolves were again lead by sophmore
Rachel Krogman, totaling 18 points on the night and 11 rebounds.
A four point game at the half the Beavers would hold the Wolves to a 34.9 shooting percentage. NSU was not able to fight off the Beaver attack, lead by Morgan Lee with 22 points, as they shot 52.1 percent from the floor as a team. BSU would force 13 turnovers, scoring 16 points in total.
Junior
Alison Kusler would add 16 to the Wolves effort for the night, while senior
Sarah Hintz would would drain eight with three rebounds. Sophmore
Megan Mutchler would have a great defensive night pulling in six defensive rebounds and eight in total, as well as seven scores.
Northern State continues on the road next weekend versus Winona State and Upper Iowa at 6 p.m. each night. The Wolves will then return home for the I Hate Winter Weekend February 8th and 9th from Wachs Arena.
