Aberdeen, S.D. - All around solid play led the Northern State Women's Basketball team to their frist win of the weekend, topping University of Minnesota Crookston with a score of 72-60. The Wolves improve to 13-4 on the year, 9-4 in NSIC play, while the Golden Eagles tumble to 5-12 overall and 2-11 in the loop. Four Wolves women would score double digits on the night.
NSU was lead by sophmore
Rachel Krogman with a game high 18 points and 11 rebounds. Senior
Sarah Hintz would tally 17 points on the night, while going 7-7 from the free throw line. Impressive bench play lead the Wolves to a total of 25 points throughout the game.
Junior
Alison Kusler would continue great free throw shooting as she was 100 percent from the line. Kusler would add 12 points in the game and eight assits. Sophmore
Megan Mutchler would also drain 12 for the Wolves.
With a score of 39-33 going into the second half of play, the Wolves defense would hold the Golden Eagles to a 25.93 shooting percentage. UMC's Katrina Moenkedick would put up 17 on the night.
The Wolves are on the road again tomorrow night against Bemidji State University at 4 p.m.. Last time out the Wolves would take the game from the Beavers 53-50.
