Full Game Notes

SETTING THE STAGE:
The Wolves are coming off just their second weekend sweep of the season, after defeating St. Cloud State 61-43 behind 19 points from Sarah Hintz. The following night, the Wolves exacted revenge on Concordia-St. Paul in a 64-60 victory as Emily Becken and Alison Kusler combined for half that total with 16 points apiece. The Wolves now control their own destiny as a win will place them in the NSIC Tournament while a St. Cloud State loss to Concordia-St. Paul will place the Wolves in the tournament regardless of the Wolves outcome.

The Series:
NSU leads the series with Mary 28-9

About the Marauders:
The University of Mary sit in third place in the NSIC with a record of 17-8 (9-3 Home) and 14-7 in the NSIC. The Marauders, like the Wolves, are coming off a weekend sweep of St. Cloud State and Concordia-St. Paul with an 81-52 victory over CSP and a 67-50 victory over SCSU. Led by Linda Murray and Ali Collins with 11.2 and 10.7 points per game respectively, Mary sits second in the NSIC in scoring, averaging 69.8 per game. The Marauders rank first with securing 44.7 rebounds per game, Murray leads the team with 7.8 per contest.

Last game against the Marauders:
The Marauders defeated the Wolves 73-71 after a high drama second half. In the game, Kayla Schmidt hit 5-7 three-point baskets for 15 points while Kaitlyn Haag added 16 points off the bench. The Wolves had an opportunity to tie the game at the end of regulation before a Sadie Stotesbery shot fell short. The Wolves were led with 16 points each from Emily Becken and Jenna Higgins as Alison Kusler and Mikayla Barondeau each hit double digits as well, the only time the Wolves have lost when pacing four players in double figures.

Who 2 Watch 4:
Emily Becken (PG, 5-7, Sr. Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS) helped lead the Wolves back into the playoff picture as the Wolves swept the weekend with victories over St. Cloud State and Concordia-St. Paul. In the 61-43 victory over St. Cloud State, which snapped a four game win streak for the Huskies and securing the tie breaker, Becken scored 14 points while snagging two rebounds and dishing out two assists.
