Kelsey Chambers, the Northern State Wolves rallied from a first-set loss to take a 3-1 road win (19-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-21) over Minnesota, Crookston Friday evening in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference volleyball action.
NSU evens its season record at 8-8 overall and moves to 3-5 in the league. UMC slipped to 7-8 on the season and also stands at 3-5 in NSIC play with Friday's game.
The Wolves, who had not won a match this season after dropping the first set, dug themselves an early hole after falling 25-19 in the first. NSU rebounded in the second set with Chambers (seven kills) and Kabalis (six kills) leading the charge. The Wolves hammered 17 kills in the set and held the Golden Eagles to just ten to even the match at one set apiece heading into the break.
Set three was nearly the same story, as the Wolves rallied behind Chambers, Kabalis and senior middle blocker
Chelsea Chavez, who was in on all three NSU blocks at the net in the set.
The Golden Eagles put together a strong showing in the fourth set, but the Wolves rallied from a 15-13 deficit to take a 20-16 lead. UMC closed to within 22-20, but could not stave off the NSU victory.

Ella Campbell stamped her 30-dig membership club card with a 35-dig effort in the back row, leading four players in double figures in that category. Freshman setter
Drew Smith guided the Wolves with 58 assists, 11 digs, three blocks and a pair of service aces.
Amanda Swann paced the Golden Eagles with 16 kills. Brittany Looker notched 17 digs and 11 kills on the outside.
NSU continues on to Bemidji State on Saturday for a 3 p.m. match.
