ABERDEEN, S.D. -
The Northern State Wolves rallied from a 21-13 deficit in the third set to take a 26-24 win and complete the sweep of the visiting Augustana Vikings Saturday night in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference volleyball action.

With the win, NSU's seventh in its last eight matches, the Wolves improved to 13-9 overall and 8-6 in NSIC play.  NSU is now 6-3 on its home court.  Augustana, which was receiving votes in the latest AVCA Top 25 poll, slipped to 15-8 overall and 9-5 in the loop.

NSU took the opening sets by scores of 25-19 and 25-22, but struggled out of the gates in set 3 before rallying for the victory.  NSU senior Kaleinani Kabalis and sophomore Macey Finizio sparked the NSU rally, combining for four kills in a 6-0 NSU run that cut a 21-13 deficit to just 21-19.  The Vikings were able to temporarily stem the tide, but another Kabalis kill followed by three straight errors at the net put NSU back in the lead 23-22.

Two more Kabalis kills gave NSU two straight set and match points before freshman Cari McGarvie finished off the night with her sixth kill of the night.

With her eight kills in the final set, Kabalis ended her night with 19 total kills and 11 digs.  Finizioi added 13 kills and a service ace, while freshman Kelsey Chambers added eight kills and 16 digs.  The middle blocking crew of McGarvie and senior Chelsea Chavez combined for 12 kills and a .555 attack percentage.  McGarvie was also in on all four Northern State blocks.

The Vikings got 10 kills from Jordan Spatenka off the bench, but could not overcome a .165 attack percentage.

NSU remains at home next weekend to face a rematch of the opening weekend of NSIC play.  The Wolves host unranked St. Cloud State on Friday and sixth-ranked Minnesota-Duluth on Saturday in another key weekend of conference action.  Friday night's match is set for 7 p.m., while first serve on Saturday is set for 3 p.m. in Wachs Arena.
