ST. CLOUD, Minn.-
The Northern State women's basketball team move one step closer home court advantage for the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tournament when the team defeated St. Cloud State on the road in a 65-52 victory Friday night in St. Cloud.

With just two regular season games remaining, the Wolves currently sit at third in NSIC standings.

NSU improves to 17-7 overall and 14-6 in the NSIC; St. Cloud State moves to 12-12 and 9-11 in the NSIC.

For the 17th time, NSU recorded three players in double-digits, and were led tonight by Jodi Reinschmidt with a game-high 19 points and 8 rebounds. Two points behind her was Krista Rabenberg with 17 points, seven blocks and eight more boards. Emily Becken finished the night with 15 points, six rebounds and a season-high eight assists.

The Wolves jumped out a 10-2 lead before a three-pointer from Jessica Dowd at fourteen and a half minutes brought the Huskies within four.

Reinschmidt answered the Huskies three with six straight points including shooting 4-4 from the free-throw line to make the score 16-10, at the 11:23 mark.

Alison Kusler gave NSU their biggest lead of the first half when she hit a jumper in the paint on a pass from Brittany Euerle, giving the Wolves a 29-16 (13 points) lead with 5:41 to go in the first period.

The Wolves went into the half shooting 56 percent from the field (14-25), and leading by seven, 33-26. Reinschmidt paced the team with eight points and six rebounds while Becken seven points and four assists in the half. Euerle, Rabenberg and Kusler all contributed six points apiece.

Northern State earned its biggest lead of the game two minutes into the second half when Becken hit a trey to put the Wolves up by 15 points, 41-26.

A Rachel Moen three-pointer at the 5:44 mark would put the Huskies within seven points of NSU's lead, the closest they would get to the lead in the second half, but back-to-back jumpers from Krista Rabenberg and a pair of free-throws from Reinschmidt would return the Wolves' lead to double digits at 62-39 with just under four minutes of competition remaining.

With the shot clock winding down and under a minute left in regulation Rabenberg attempted her first three-pointer of the season and was fouled knocking down all three from the charity stripe for the final points of the game.

Northern State will travel to Concordia, St. Paul to take on the Golden Bears tomorrow at 4 p.m.
