SETTING THE STAGE: The Northern State women's basketball team (16-7, 13-6 overall) will travel east for contests with St. Cloud State (12-11, 9-10 NSIC) and Concordia-St. Paul (15-8, 14-5 NSIC). Games are slated for 6 p.m. and 4 p.m. respectively.
THE SERIES:
Concordia-St. Paul and NSU have met a total of 22 times including the first match-up during the 1999-00 season in which the Wolves defeated the Golden Bears, 95-65. NSU holds the record at 11-10.
SIZING UP THE COMPETITION:
Sitting at second in NSIC standings, CU has won 12 straight games, including a big win on Jan. 29 over then-ranked No. 6 Wayne State, 91-57. The Golden Bears took two on the road last weekend from SMSU and Minnesota State, Mankato.
LAST TIME OUT:
Leading by ten at one point in the first half, Northern State could not hold on to the lead and fell Saturday night to No. 9 Wayne State, 61-54. The Wolves held Ashley Arlen scoreless in the first half before she knocked down a game-high 19 points in the second half, including five points in a row to take the final lead of the game.

Saturday's game against Mary marks the first time Northern State has been tied at half time during the 2010-2011 season. Both teams sat at 27 going into the break. The Wolves are now 1-0 with a tie going into half, while they have won nine games when they lead at half and have earned victory in two games when they trail at the end of the first period.Northern currently ranks second in conference standings behind Wayne State in points allowed giving up an average of just 59. 5 points a game. The Wolves also sit second in field goal percentage at 46.5 percent. NSU is third in the NSIC grabbing an average of 27.47 defensive rebounds per game. While she may not have set the record for most points scored in an indvidual game (held by Maurie Simon with 44 points in 1975), Reinschmidt's career-high 38 points in Northern's win over Minnesota, Crookston is the most points scored by an NSU player since Jammie Coyle's 37-point performance on Nov. 7, 1999 against Francis Marion University. Reinschmidt's contribution sets her at top of the NSIC single-game season high point total as well as the single-game season high for field goals made with 17. For the first time this season, Krista Rabenberg recorded her first double-double of the season when she scored 21 points and grabbed 10 boards against Augie. Rabenberg posted another double-double performance Saturday night when she contributed 13 points and 11 rebounds. The fourth Regional Rankings of the season were released on Wednesday with Northern State sitting in sixth. Leading the Central Region is Fort Lewis with previous leader Wayne State at third. Concordia-St. Paul sits at fifth while Augustana is ranked seventh and Winona State sits at eighth. The next rankings will be released Wednesday. In the last weekend of home games on the season, the Wolves earned a 67-54 win over Augustana. Krista Rabenberg paced NSU with a season-high 21 points and 10 rebounds. Jodi Reinschmidt added 17 points and four assists in the win.The Huskies are currently riding a three-game winning streak including a double-overtime, 78-76, road win last Saturday in Marshall, Minn., when Amanda Wagner nailed a tip-in basket as time expired against Southwest Minnesota State. The series between Northern State and St. Cloud State dates back to the 1995-96 season when NSU defeated SCSU, 76-66. Including that first win, the Wolves are 4-1 against the Huskies including a 71-60 win this season on Dec. 4, 2010.
