SETTING THE STAGE:
The Wolves went on a roller coaster of a weekend this last weekend. The Wolves were beat by #4 Wayne State 60-38. After scoring the first two points of the contest, the Wolves never lead again.
Alison Kusler lead the Wolves with 11 points. Against Augustana, the Wolves went down 16-0 and 18-1 before making a remarkable comeback. The Wolves pulled to within 6 at the half and took the lead for good with 7:28 remaining in the game. Kusler lead with a career high 21 points, Mikayala Barondeau had her first double-double on the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

UMD leads the series with NSU 31-20
About the Beavers:
BSU is 5-3 (3-1 NSIC) while 2-0 at home. This will be the first home game for the Beavers since Nov. 19. The Beavers pace three players in double digits lead by Kate Warmack with 14.3 points per game. Morgan Lee and Shannon Thompson also score in doube digits for the Beavers. Last weekend the Beavers fell at Winona State while pulling out a victory at Upper Iowa. BSU is ranked #1 in the NSIC in field goal percentage defense, holding opponents to .334 shooting.
About the Bulldogs:
UMD is 6-2 (3-1 NSIC) while 1-0 at home. The Bulldogs pace 2 players in double digits with Katrina Newman at 15.6 and Courtney Doucette at 13.1 points per game. Last weekend the Bulldogsbeat Upper Iowa 81-58 and Winona State 56-45. Newman is 5th in the NSIC in scoring and 3rd in rebounding with 8.8 rebounds per game.
Who 2 Watch 4: Alison Kusler (G 5-9 So. Aberdeen, S.D./Aberdeen Central) lead the Wolves in scoring in both of the opening home conferece games this past weekend including a career night against Augustana College. In the loss to #4 Wayne State College, Allison was the only Wolves player in double figures with 11 points. In the victory over the Vikings, which the Wolves were down 18-1 with 9:43 left in the first half, Kusler lead the Wolves comeback. She scored 14 of the first 17 points for the Wolves enroute a career high of 21 points for the sophomore. Kusler shot 6-9 from the field, including 5-7 from behing the three-point arc. On the defensive end, Kusler snagged five rebounds and had two steals for the Wolves. Kusler was a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line for the weekend.
