Wolves Suffer First Loss

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Northern State women's basketball (3-1, 0-0 NSIC) hit the road for one last time before making their home debut for the season, fell 79-56 to South Dakota Mines (1-3) on Saturday evening in Rapid City, S.D.

The Wolves, who a night earlier shot 56.4 percent, shot just 30.8 percent hitting just 16 of 52 field goals.

The Wolves lead by three at intermission, before losing the lead 53 seconds into the second half.

From that point on, the Hardrockers built a lead that eventually led to the final score of 79-56.

The Wolves were lead by senior Jenna Higgins who shot 4-4 from the field and 7-9 from the free throw line, good for 15 points. Higgins also had seven rebounds for the Wolves.

Senior Mikayla Barondeau also had double digits scoring with ten points, while securing nine rebounds, five of which came on the offensive end.

The Wolves did continue their trend of out rebounding their opponent 43-32 while securing an incredible 20 offensive rebounds.

The Wolves will make their home debut on Wednesday, November 23, to take on cross-town opponent Presentation College in a 6 p.m. start.
