ABERDEEN, S.D. – After dropping their fourth straight match a night before to the nation's top-ranked squad, the Northern State University Wolves rebounded to take a 3-1 victory over St. Cloud State University on Saturday afternoon in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference volleyball action. The Huskies claimed the first set by a 25-18 count, but the Wolves rattled off three straight set wins to close out their first victory since an Oct. 7 victory at the University of Mary.
Win the win, the Wolves move to 9-13 on the season and 4-10 in NISC play, while the Huskies slipped to 6-20 overall and 2-12 in league action.
The Huskies caught NSU flat-footed to start the first set, holding the Wolves to just a .021 hitting percentage in the stanza. Senior
Kelsey Aden had four of NSU's 12 kills in the set, but the Wolves committed 11 hitting errors and four service errors to aid the Husky effort.

The Wolves continued their run in the third set, racking up 11 team kills to just two attacking errors. NSU also had four service aces in the set, three of which came off the hand of Schaffer. Freshman Ella Campbell also picked up an ace, as she saw service duty for the second straight night.
Set three was more of the same for the Wolves, as they hit .275 as a team while racking up 14 team kills. Junior outside hitter
Kayla Ysteboe answered the call in that set, putting down eight of her 13 kills on the night in that stanza.
Schaffer finished with a match-best 14 kills for the Wolves, hitting .238 in the process. The junior also had three aces and 23 digs to lead the NSU defensive effort. All told, the Wolves had five players in double figures in digs.
Yesteboe had 13 kills on 37 attempts, while Kopfmann added 10 kills while hitting a solid .381 on the night. Junior setter
Megan Gilbraith finished with 46 assists.
The Huskies were led offensively by Kayla Tschida, who had 14 kills. Chelsea Nagle had 29 digs defensively.
The Wolves remain at home to take on Jamestown College in a non-conference match-up on Tuesday. First serve is set for 7 p.m. in Wachs Arena.
